Setup guide

What to get, where to put it, and how to know Barvinca is ready.

Use this path before opening Bulk User Manager. It separates Marketplace review, customer administration, and day-to-day operator setup so nobody has to reverse-engineer the first run.

Paths

Pick the path that matches the person doing the setup.

Marketplace reviewers can inspect the offer and legal pages first. Customer administrators need Autodesk account access and APS app credentials. Operators can start after the admin setup is complete.

Reviewer

Marketplace review

Open landing, pricing, legal, support, setup, and screenshot lightbox before sign-in. Sign in only when testing welcome BRV access and the app shell.

Administrator

Customer setup

Create or select the APS app, authorize the Client ID in ACC/BIM 360, paste credentials into Barvinca, then test the connection.

Operator

Daily usage

Open Bulk User Manager, review account data, run dry-runs, then execute scoped changes within the available BRV balance.

First run

Guided setup sequence.

Do these steps in order. If one fails, stop there; later steps depend on the same APS account context.

1

Use the Autodesk account that should evaluate or operate Barvinca. Account admins should sign in with their admin identity.

2

Get APS credentials

Go to APS My Apps, create or open an app with account admin scopes, then copy the Client ID and reveal/copy the Client Secret.

3

Authorize the app

In ACC/BIM 360 Account Admin, add a Custom Integration and paste the APS Client ID.

4

Paste into Barvinca

Open Profile, paste the same Client ID and Client Secret into APS App Credentials, then save.

5

Test and open

Use the Profile test button, then open Bulk User Manager and start with review or dry-run workflows.

Where things come from

Copy these values from Autodesk, then paste them into the matching Barvinca field.

Client ID identifies the APS app. Client Secret is the password for that app; keep it private and paste it only into Barvinca Profile credentials.

APS Client ID

Source: APS My Apps. Destination: Autodesk Custom Integration and Barvinca Profile Client ID.

APS Client Secret

Source: APS My Apps app details. Destination: Barvinca Profile Client Secret only. Do not paste it into Autodesk Custom Integrations.

Required APS scopes

Enable account:read, account:write, user:read, and user:write for Bulk User Manager account administration.

Account Admin access

Source: ACC or BIM 360 account permissions. Needed to add the Custom Integration and allow account admin API access.

Ready checklist

Before running a write operation.

Discovery and dry-runs are the safe starting point. Writes should wait until credentials, account authorization, and project scope all look correct.

Autodesk sign-in works

You can open Dashboard and Profile without being sent back to sign-in.

BRV balance is active

Subscription status shows welcome BRV access or a paid subscription bundle.

APS credentials are saved

Profile shows 2-legged app auth as configured and the test button succeeds.

Custom Integration exists

The same Client ID is added in ACC/BIM 360 Account Admin for the target account or hub.

Account data loads

Bulk User Manager can show users, projects, roles, and account context.

Dry-run succeeds first

Use preview/dry-run before writes. One write mutation costs 1 BRV. Welcome access includes 50 BRV total, 50 per day, 50 per operation, and 1 active write operation.

Need a source of truth?

Use official Autodesk pages when creating or authorizing the APS app.

The Barvinca setup page links to Autodesk-owned docs for app creation and BIM 360/ACC custom integration access. If Autodesk changes the UI wording, follow the Autodesk page and keep the same data mapping: Client ID into Autodesk and Barvinca, Client Secret into Barvinca only.
