Bulk User Manager documentation

Pages

Import, export, and manage users across ACC/BIM 360 projects. What each Bulk User Manager screen is for.

Core Workflows

The screens used to stage and execute account changes.

Dashboard

Open

Summary statistics showing total users, active projects, companies, and hygiene score. Recent operations list lets you pick up where you left off. Each stat card links directly to the relevant page for deeper exploration.

  • View user/project/company counts
  • Jump to recent operations
  • Navigate via stat cards

Users

Open

The primary user table showing everyone across all selected projects. Supports search, column filtering, and sorting by email, name, company, role, or status. Select multiple rows for bulk actions. Offers grouped views — by user (one row per person with all their projects) or by project (one section per project). Click any row to open the full Edit User detail page.

  • Search and filter the user table
  • Select users for bulk role change or removal
  • Switch between user-grouped and project-grouped views
  • Click a row to edit a single user's memberships
  • Export current view to CSV

Add User

Open

Form-based interface for adding one or more users by email. Select target projects, assign a default role, and set company and product access. Supports per-project role overrides when different projects need different permission levels. Load saved templates for repeatable onboarding scenarios. All operations route through the changeset and preflight system before any API calls are made.

  • Enter emails manually or paste a list
  • Select target projects and assign roles
  • Set per-project role overrides
  • Load from saved templates
  • Send to changeset for preflight validation

Import

Open

Upload a CSV file via drag-and-drop or file picker. The parser validates every row inline — email format, role names, project IDs — and highlights errors before you commit. Supports backup and rollback: the system snapshots the current state before applying changes. After completion, download results as CSV and safeguard scripts for rollback if needed.

  • Upload CSV with drag-and-drop
  • Preview and validate rows before import
  • View per-row error details
  • Execute with automatic backup
  • Download results and rollback scripts

Transfer

Open

Select a source and target project, then pick which users to transfer. Choose whether to keep their current role or assign a new one. The system deduplicates against existing target users so you don't create conflicts. Cross-account transfers are blocked with a clear warning. Selected users go to the changeset for review and preflight.

  • Select source and target projects
  • Pick users to transfer
  • Keep current role or assign a new one
  • Automatic deduplication against target
  • Cross-account safety guard

Changeset

Open

The staging area where all pending operations queue up before execution. Every add, remove, and role change goes through the changeset first. Review the full list, remove individual items, or clear everything. The changeset auto-merges duplicate operations (e.g., adding the same user twice). Execute runs preflight validation before any API calls. Save the changeset for later or schedule it for a specific time.

  • Review all pending operations
  • Remove individual items or clear all
  • Auto-merge duplicate operations
  • Execute with preflight validation
  • Save changeset or schedule for later

Analysis Views

Views for understanding users, companies, roles, project coverage, and reusable onboarding shapes.

Companies

Open

Company-centric view showing all companies with their user and project counts. Expand any company card to see all members with checkboxes, their roles, and which projects they belong to. Select members individually or select all, then take bulk actions: change role for the entire company, remove members from projects, or add selections to the changeset. Essential for auditing contractor access and managing company-wide permissions.

  • View all companies with user/project counts
  • Expand to see and select members
  • Bulk change role for all company members
  • Bulk remove company members
  • Filter companies by name

Groups

Open

Five built-in grouping modes: by company, by role, by project set (users sharing the same project combination), by status, and custom groups. Custom groups are user-defined — create named groups, search and add members, rename, and delete. Custom groups persist in your browser via localStorage. Every group supports bulk actions: select all members, change roles, remove from projects, or add to changeset. Custom groups also support removing members from the group itself.

  • Switch between 5 grouping modes
  • Create, rename, and delete custom groups
  • Add members to custom groups by search
  • Bulk actions on any group (role change, remove)
  • Groups persist across browser sessions

Roles

Open

Visual breakdown showing each role (Project Admin, Manager, Member, Viewer, VDC Manager) as a card with user count, project count, and a description of what the role permits. Click a role card to expand and see all users with that role. Users appear with checkboxes for selection. The role change picker automatically filters out the current role to prevent no-op changes. Both "Change Role" and "Remove" actions route through the changeset.

  • View role distribution across the account
  • Click any role to see its users
  • Select users for bulk role change
  • Remove users from projects
  • See role descriptions and project counts

Compare

Open

Select two projects and instantly see three lists: users only in the source, users only in the target, and users in both. The source-only list lets you select users and copy them to the target project in one action. Cross-account comparisons are blocked with a guard. Ideal for auditing differences before transfers or for verifying that two projects have the same team.

  • Select source and target projects
  • View users unique to each project
  • View users shared between projects
  • Copy source-only users to target
  • Cross-account safety guard

Templates

Open

Create reusable templates that store a name, description, target project list, default role, and product access settings. When adding users via the Add User page, load a template to pre-fill all fields. Define templates for common scenarios: "New project admin", "Subcontractor viewer", "Engineering team member". Templates can be edited and deleted as needs change.

  • Create templates with default settings
  • Edit and delete existing templates
  • Load templates in the Add User flow
  • Pre-fill projects, roles, and products
  • Organize repeatable onboarding workflows

Matrix

Open

A full permission matrix showing users as rows and projects as columns (or vice versa). Each cell displays the role, access status, company, or membership status depending on the selected display mode. Click any cell to edit that user-project membership inline. Supports pagination for large accounts. The only view that shows the complete access picture across all users and projects simultaneously.

  • Toggle users×projects or projects×users
  • Switch cell display: role, status, company
  • Click cells to edit inline
  • Paginate through large datasets
  • See the full access picture at once

Operations & Audit

Audit, quality, compliance, offboarding, scheduling, and history surfaces.

Reports

Open

Select from pre-built report types: role distribution, inactive users, company summary, project coverage, and hygiene scores. Each report renders aggregated data in a table. Download any report as CSV for stakeholder updates, compliance audits, or inclusion in project status documents.

  • Select report type
  • View aggregated data tables
  • Download as CSV
  • Role distribution and inactive user reports
  • Company and project coverage summaries

Hygiene

Open

Scans your account for data quality problems, categorized as errors, warnings, or informational. Detects: users with no role, users in a project but not in the account, mismatched email domains, stale accounts, and more. Displays an overall hygiene score (0–100). Select individual issues or groups of issues and bulk-fix them immediately or schedule fixes for later.

  • View hygiene score (0–100)
  • Filter issues by type: error, warning, info
  • Select and bulk-fix issues
  • Schedule fixes for later
  • Group by user or by project

Duplicates

Open

Three detection strategies: email variants (john.doe vs johndoe@same-domain), same-name matches across different emails, and metadata mismatches (same email with different company names across projects). Results appear as expandable clusters showing all matching accounts. Dismiss false positives — dismissals persist in your browser. Helps clean up accounts where the same person was added multiple ways over time.

  • View duplicate clusters by detection type
  • Expand clusters to see details
  • Dismiss false positives (persisted)
  • Search and filter duplicates
  • Three detection strategies

Compliance

Open

Six built-in rules: missing company name, high admin ratio (>30% of users are admins), inactive users, users with no assigned role, single-project users, and external email domains. Each rule shows violations with severity level (error or warning) and affected user count. Toggle rules on/off to customize your compliance profile. The overall compliance score tracks improvement over time.

  • View compliance score
  • Review violations per rule
  • Toggle rules on/off
  • Filter by severity (error/warning)
  • Expand violations to see affected users

Offboarding

Open

Purpose-built for removing departing users. Search for users to offboard, select one or more, then choose the scope: remove from all projects or specific ones. The operation goes through the changeset and preflight system, so you get full validation before any removals happen. Designed for employee departures and contractor off-boarding where you need a clean, auditable removal process.

  • Search for users to offboard
  • Select removal scope (all or specific projects)
  • Preview removals before executing
  • Routes through changeset and preflight
  • Auditable removal process

Schedules

Open

Define operations that run on a cron schedule or at a specific future time. Supports add, remove, and role update operations. Each schedule shows its next run time, total run count, and last execution status. Enable or disable schedules without deleting them. Click through to view the operation history for each schedule. No laptop needs to be open — the server handles execution.

  • Create schedules with cron expressions
  • Enable/disable without deleting
  • View next run time and run history
  • Supports add, remove, role update
  • Server-side execution (no laptop needed)

Changelog

Open

Shows every completed change across your account with time-range filtering: last 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or 90 days. Filter by change type (added, removed, role changed) and by email. Each entry shows the affected user, what changed, and a timestamp. Click any entry to navigate to the full operation detail page with before/after diffs.

  • Filter by time range (24h to 90d)
  • Filter by change type and email
  • View change details with timestamps
  • Navigate to operation detail pages

Audit Trail

Open

Every operation ever executed is logged here: adds, removes, role changes, and imports. Each entry shows status (completed, failed, partial), item counts, timestamps, and who initiated it. Expand any operation to inspect individual items and their results. Filter by action type and status. The definitive answer to "who changed permissions on the Hospital project last Tuesday?".

  • View all operations with status
  • Expand to see individual items
  • Filter by action type and status
  • See who initiated each operation
  • Complete audit trail for compliance

History

Open

Detailed view of recent operations (last 50) with live progress tracking. Active operations auto-poll for status updates with progress bars. Expand any operation to see individual item results (success, skip, fail). Supports retry for failed operations and abort for running ones. Each operation links to a full detail page with timeline events, before/after diff view, and one-click rollback.

  • Live progress tracking for active operations
  • Expand to see per-item results
  • Retry failed operations
  • Abort running operations
  • Rollback completed operations

Access Requests

Open

A review queue for user access requests. Users request access to projects, and account admins approve or deny from this page. Filter by status: all, pending, approved, or denied. The interface is ready and operational — full API integration for automated request routing is coming in a future update.

  • View pending access requests
  • Approve or deny requests
  • Filter by status
  • Review request details
