Workflows

Import, export, and manage users across ACC/BIM 360 projects. Common user-management jobs and safe order of operations.

Common Workflows

Add or onboard users

Use Add User or Import to stage users, projects, roles, and product access. Templates are best for repeatable onboarding patterns.

  1. Prepare target project list
  2. Choose default role and overrides
  3. Send to Changeset
  4. Run preflight
  5. Execute only after review

Clean up roles

Use Roles, Matrix, and Companies to see who has which access before making role updates in bulk.

  1. Find target users
  2. Stage role changes
  3. Check for no-op or invalid roles
  4. Review before/after diff
  5. Audit completed operation

Transfer teams

Use Compare and Transfer when one project should mirror another or when users move between projects.

  1. Choose source and target projects
  2. Select source-only users
  3. Preserve or override roles
  4. Avoid cross-account transfers
  5. Validate with preflight

Offboard users

Use Offboarding for a deliberate removal path with clear scope and audit evidence.

  1. Search departing users
  2. Choose all projects or selected projects
  3. Stage removals
  4. Run preflight
  5. Keep operation history

Safe Execution Pattern

Discovery and dry-run review should happen before writes. The usual order is select data, stage changes, review changeset, run preflight, execute in capped batches, then inspect history.
